If you could change your first name what would you choose? Read Ephesians 1: 3-14 What was one of your adolescent expressions of identity? Where, What and Who do we look to to define our identity? From these verses, make a list with two columns.  The first column is "I am....."  The second column finishes the sentence with "...because God is...." Pick three adjectives that start with the first three letters of your first name which reflect who you are because of Jesus Christ.

What did John compliment the Ephesian church for? What was John critical of the Ephesian church? How can we keep our "first love"?

I'll be returning from Oklahoma Sunday morning but will be at the Sunday evening meal. Read 1 Corinthians 11:17-32 Was there a time you tried to improve on a tradition?  Why did you want to improve it?  How did it work? What was Paul most concerned about with regard to the  Corinthians' practice of the Lord's Supper? Can we add anything to God's plans? How does competition affect the church body? What motivates competition, even within the church family? How does criticism affect the church body? What motivates criticism? What is the purpose of the Lord's Supper? Why is it so centrally important? How can we each keep the Lord's Supper fresh and focused on God's plan?
